  Review of Abrams cosmetic dentistry Dr. Abrams is an excellent dentist. I have been with him for ten years but in the last few months job changes meant insurance changes and I had to go to someone in my network. Off I went to a nearby practice where they crates me and found a small cavity so they gave me a topical numbing cream which tingled and burned. I never had that experience with dr abrams. Then the shot of nova Cain which was not adminsitered gently by any means. After five minutes dentist asked if I felt numb and I said I think so. She put in the drill and man I could feel it... I jumped out of my chair. I said I don't think I am ready and that reallt hurt. I asked for nitrate oxide but they didn't have it so we agreed I should go somewhere I could have that bc now I was all nervous from the pain I felt. I got in my car to drive home with a small hole in my tooth and worried about that now. Then my throat closed up and I couldn't swallow at all and my whole left side of my body went tingly and numb. I turned my car around and drove back to their office and explained in a voice where I could barley talk and I just kept thinking this never happened to me before when dr Abrams filled a cavity. The dentist was not happy I was back and had horrible bed side manner and told me to sit in a chair for thirty minutes while they watched me. I kept saying I could not swallow at all or feel my left side of my body and she says well do I have Benadryl bc u might be having an allergic reaction to the topical numbing cream I have u. I was like no I don't have Benadryl shouldn't u have it??? So I sat and after thirty minutes could breath better and I drove straight to dr Abrams. He took me right away. He took an X-ray and said cavity was so tiny and probably don't need it filled. His main concern was about my reaction to the numbing cream and said the product they used probably had benzoyl in it and I am allergic to that maybe and by law they should of had Benadryl in heir office. He was very kind and calmed me down and now I know I don't care what insurance I have bc I am only going to him!!
